IKEA has announced that it will rent out apartments in Tokyo for just 99 yen per month ($ 0.86). The apartments, however, will be very small.
Thus, the company is implementing the Tiny Homes project. The apartments will be only 10 square meters, but they will be two-level - with a small bedroom, a work area and even a bathroom. IKEA wants to prove that it is possible to live in small apartments too, if you organize functional space and use storage systems wisely.
For the indicated price, tenants will be able to live in apartments until January 15, 2023.
A prerequisite for those who are interested in IKEA's offer is participation in the filming of a mini-series about the Tiny Homes project. The main character will be a real estate agent.
IKEA notes that the apartments are located in the central area of Tokyo, within walking distance of Shinjuku station, numerous establishments and the city's business center. Now the average rental price there is estimated at $ 382.
The company added that despite the size of the apartments, they will have everything you need, including washing machines and refrigerators.
Those wishing to rent mini-housing for a dollar need to apply for them on the website of IKEA, and it is possible to move to the apartment as early as December 2021. One more term of the project is that the rent is provided only to members of the IKEA Family club.
