RUSSIAN MARKET OF TOURIST SERVICES WILL GROW BY 30%

According to the vice-president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Alexander Kurnosov, a vacation in the resort areas of Russia will soon appreciably grow in price. However, a full restoration of the recreation sector should be expected not earlier than in 2022.

According to the experts, tourism is the most developing and promising business among the rest affected by the pandemic. And even a crisis that happened due to the spread of coronavirus infection cannot destroy the area.

Now, the problem of the level of service and the solution to the problem of “price-quality” ratio is coming to the fore for resorts.

We should recall that Russian citizens were allowed to leave Russia only if they were studying abroad, working, or in need of medical assistance.

The representatives of WHO in the Russian Federation have taken control of the verification of the facts, provided by the citizens who travel abroad.

The coronavirus pandemic caused major losses to the Russian market of tourist services. In recent months, the turnover in the area decreased from 95% to 100%, and the amount of revenue loss amounted to 1.5 trillion rubles. More than 7 million people risk losing their jobs in the industry. To improve the situation, the rescue measures for the tourism industry have been introduced into the country's economy. Among them there are favorable conditions for the repayment of existing loans for the travel agencies and increased support from the state. According to the latest data, a large number of Russians are inclined toward domestic tourism in the nearest future, which will have a beneficial effect on the speedy restoration of the industry.

For the moment, a large number of sanatoriums with medical licenses in the resort cities of Russia have already resumed their activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko presented a list of mandatory measures to accelerate the launch of the holiday season and long-term assistance to the tourism sector. He noted that already in 40 regions of Russia, the situation meets the necessary requirements for the resumption of the usual rhythm of life.

It is obvious that June will be a “preparatory” month for the full resumption of the holiday season, and on 1 July a full-fledged start of work of the tourism industry is expected in Russia.
