HP Enterprise is finally leaving Russia and Belarus.
The legendary American corporation made the decision to withdraw from the markets of the Russian Federation and Belarus on June 1. The company stated that they could not wait for the completion of the "military special operation" in Ukraine, which was launched on February 24. The firm expected for 90 days that the political conflict would be settled, after which it turned to its Russian partners.

In 2021, the corporation received about $1 billion in profit in Russia. In the previous fiscal quarter (ended in April), the company earned $250 million, and before that $259 million. HP Enterprise's revenue for the quarter reached $6.71 billion.

The termination of work in Russia and Belarus in March 2022 resulted in a write-off of $126 million for the brand.

In Russia, the HP brand was associated mainly with laptops among computer users. According to experts, they accounted for about 20% of the total sales in this segment. At the same time, for the corporation itself, the market of Russia and Belarus brought less than 2% of revenue. However, for Russian companies, HP's departure can be very painful.

After 2015, when Hewlett-Packard was split into two companies, one of them (HP Inc.) continued to manufacture printers, personal computers and laptops. Another company (HP Enterprise) switched exclusively to working with servers, digital solutions for business and service support.

The latter's departure from Russia has already affected the company's local partners. In particular, AFK Sistema may suffer. In 2020, the company, together with HP Enterprise and the Chinese company Inspur, began work on server localization. The activity was carried out using the production base of the television plant in Saransk. It was planned that the company would start producing 15 different types of high-tech equipment (routers, servers, switches, relays, etc.).

Recently, a subsidiary of Rosatom received a refusal in technical support from HP Enterprise. The Greenatom company, which signed a contract with an American firm until September 2023, will now look for other ways to circumvent sanctions. It is already known that the HP brand has been included in the register of companies whose goods will be imported into the Russian Federation through "parallel import" (without the consent of the brand owners and bypassing official dealers).

The company suspended deliveries to Russia back in March.

On March 22, the company published information that all registered users in Belarus and the Russian Federation will be blocked, that is, they will not have access to the company's services.

Top manager of HP Enterprise Antonio Neri said that the company will maintain communication with its employees in Russia, intending to wind up the business legally, without entering into conflicts with labor legislation. However, according to the director of the corporation, it would be unwise to lead him further.
