GREECE OPENS ITS BORDERS FOR A NUMBER OF RUSSIANS

It became known that Greece would start to open its borders for Russians from September 7, but on condition that no more than 500 Russians can enter the country per week.

These conditions will be valid for two weeks - from 7 to 21 September. Moreover, only the airports of Heraklion, Athens and Thessaloniki will be open for tourists with Russian citizenship.

It was also noted that Russians need to have a certificate of absence of coronavirus issued no more than 72 hours before the entry.

The Greek side stated that the certificate must be in English and only from a certified laboratory. The airlines, in turn, need to check the certificates before boarding passengers - if there is no certificate, the boarding is prohibited.

If for some reason a Russian arrives in Greece without a certificate, the airline will be obliged to return him to his homeland at its own expense. In addition, tourists from the Russian Federation will have to fill in a special form with their contacts, and have a confirmation of a hotel reservation in Greece or other documents confirming the address of the temporary residence.

Russians arriving in Greece will undergo a random test for coronavirus.

Leaving the hotels is prohibited until the results are ready. Otherwise, you can get a fine of 5,000 euro (441,000 rubles).
