GAZPROM RENOUNCED THE IDEA OF THE MORATORIUM ON BANKRUPTCY

It became known that Gazprom Company made a decision to abandon the moratorium on bankruptcy. Previously, the organization was included in the government list of backbone enterprises that had a guaranteed "immunity."

We should recall that in April this year, the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree that introduced a six-month moratorium on bankruptcy for a number of companies. Hundreds of Russian enterprises were put on the list - their bankruptcies at the initiative of the creditors became impossible until October 2020.

The relevant list is available on the Internet. When making a procedural decision on the insolvency petition, the judges are required to return it if it is filed against a company under the government protection.

Thus, the state provides assistance to the large companies that create a lot of jobs during a pandemic.

However, not all the companies are willing to use this privilege. Earlier, we wrote about the Novatek enterprise, the leadership of which decided to abandon the moratorium. Gazprom was the next in line.

The fact is that along with the protection of the moratorium, the companies lose their rights on the distribution of profits and the payment of dividends, which is an unpleasant downside.
