Flavorful TV screen has been invented in Japan
Japanese professor Homei Miyashita from Meiji University has presented a prototype TV screen that allows you to feel the taste of food.  To do it, the viewer needs to lick the screen.

The device was named ‘Taste the TV’. According to Reuters, Miyashita used 10 flavored containers in his invention - when combined, they create the flavors of specific dishes.  The screen is equipped with a special hygienic film on which additives are placed.  The film moves, and the viewer can feel different tastes.
Professor Miyashita believes that his invention will help to improve the interaction of people with the outside world in the era of coronavirus.
Homei Miyashita noted that thanks to the lickable screen, the viewers, being at home, will be able to taste food from restaurants on the other side of the world.  The professor is assisted by about 30 university students in his work. The commercial version of the TV is estimated to cost around $ 875.

Miyashita also believes that the device could be used in the future for distance teaching of cooks and sommeliers.  And also for games and quizzes related to tastings.
The professor hopes that people will be able to use the device to add a chocolate or pizza flavor even to a piece of bread.
More complex ideas include creation of an App where users will be able download flavors just like music.
