Every 500th American has died of coronavirus in the United States

According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has recorded 666,607 deaths from covid. Thus, almost every 500th inhabitant of the country has died of the virus and its consequences.

Statistics are based on data as of September 16, 2021. In total, 332.7 million people live in the United States (as of April 2020) - since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 41.5 million people have fallen ill. It is reported that about a quarter of the deaths are among people over 85 years old.

Now the Delta strain has become the most ‘popular’ in the country. Last week, more than 150 thousand new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the United States almost daily. About 1,800 people die from the virus and its effects every day.

Vaccination is actively underway in the United States - it is mandatory for 17 million medical workers, as well as for civil servants and companies’ employees.

In Russia, as of September 15, 7,194,926 cases of Covid-19 infection were detected, and more than 195 thousand patients died. Over the past day, 18 841 people fell ill, and 792 have died.
