ENGLISH FOOTBALL PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE RED CARDS FOR COUGHING

In accordance with the instruction given by the Football Association of England, the referees will have new reasons to brandish the yellow and red cards during the matches. 

Now, in addition to verbal abuse and blows, football players can be punished for intentional coughing both on the referee and on other players. It is curious that there is no punishment for unintentional coughing, as well as for spitting. 

The measure was introduced due to the danger of COVID-19 infection - it will be in force until the end of the coronavirus pandemic.

  As for the observance of the social distance between the athletes after the goal is scored (the players vigorously congratulate each other and hug the whole team), the association noted that under such circumstances, the judges are not responsible for it.  
We should recall that at the end of July, the UK government decided to extend a number of restrictions - this is due to the recent increase in the number of coronavirus cases.   

The English Premier League kicks off in mid-September; earlier games were postponed due to the spread of COVID-19.
