ELON MUSK SAYS TESLA HAS SUSPENDED ACCEPTING BITCOINS FOR VEHICLE PURCHASES

The day before Elon Musk made a statement on the suspension of the sale of Tesla cars for bitcoins. The entrepreneur linked this decision with the mining of cryptocurrency, which is now carried out, including with the help of coal.

Musk expressed his concern over the fact that environmentally damaging fossil fuels are increasingly being used for Bitcoin transactions.

Musk mentioned the promising future of cryptocurrency, adding that Tesla cannot afford to harm nature in this way.

In addition, the company made a decission to suspend the sale of its own bitcoins and use them for various kinds of operations. This situation, according to the head of the corporation, will continue until the mining of cryptocurrency begins to be produced using sustainable energy sources.

We should recall that at the beginning of the year, Tesla acquired bitcoins worth $ 1.5 billion, but later Musk called this decision reckless.

Now, the cost of bitcoin has fallen by 17% against the backdrop of a new announcement by the entrepreneur about the suspension of the use of cryptocurrency and currently amounts to $ 50 thousand per coin.
