CYPRUS PROMISES TO ACCEPT RUSSIAN TOURISTS FROM MARCH 1

The government of the republic has published an official message, according to which the borders for citizens of the Russian Federation will be open from March 1, 2021. However, a Covid-19 test is required.

The Cypriot authorities have classified Russia to be the red zone in terms of the incidence of coronavirus, and therefore, in order to visit the country, travelers will have to make 2 PCR tests. The first time this will have to be done just before the arrival (maximum 72 hours before), and the second - upon arrival in the republic, at the airport.

A test in Cyprus will cost around 30-40 euros.

In addition to Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, Belarus, Israel and others entered the list of the red zone countries. We should recall that the borders were closed on March 27, 2020 - in August, international air travel gradually began to be restored. Now from the Russian Federation, it is possible to fly to Turkey, Cuba, Maldives, Great Britain, Tanzania, Greece, UAE, Japan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Serbia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Switzerland and Egypt.

As of December 4, 27 403 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Russia, 28 901 people recovered and 569 died. The total number of cases in the country since the beginning of the pandemic is approaching 2.5 million.
