CORONAVIRUS IS BACK: HIGH INCIDENCE RATE HAS BEEN RECORDED IN BEIJING

The day before, a sharp increase in the number of patients with coronavirus infection has been recorded in China: there are 57 new cases, 36 of which are in Beijing.

In the capital of the Middle Kingdom, an outbreak occurred in one of the largest wholesale food markets, and the virus itself was found on a salmon cutting board. According to the preliminary data, the infected fish came from another market, where an outbreak of COVID-19 was also previously recorded.

Immediately after receiving the dozens of positive tests for coronavirus, it was decided to close the market. Moreover, strict quarantine measures were introduced in the residential complexes, located near the market. The residents were required to comply with the regime of self-isolation and not leave their apartments, postponing work responsibilities. Kindergartens and schools were temporarily closed as well.

For the moment, the testing for the virus is being held for market employees and local residents both: the medical workers attend their homes.

In total, it is planned to test about 50,000 people.

The epidemiological services are engaged in disinfection of the territory of the district, sanitary treatments are also being carried out in other major markets of the city. The government services are actively setting the travel patterns for the people with positive coronavirus tests.

We should recall that the outbreak of COVID-19 took place last December in the market of Chinese Wuhan, where the wild animals were sold.
