CAPYBARAS HAVE TAKEN OVER AN UPSCALE VILLAGE IN ARGENTINA
An invasion of capybaras is reported on the territory of an upscale neighborhood of Nordelta, located in the north of the capital of Argentin. Animals spoil the lawns, attack dogs and even provoke road traffic accidents.

However, according to animal rights activists, the ‘invaders’ are not trying to expel people - they simply returned home.

Not so long ago, an upscale village was built to the north of Buenos Aires - wealthy people who wanted to spend time among nature moved thete.  The settlement itself was located in the wetlands of the Parana River, the largest in South America, where capybaras used to live.
According to one of the local residents, the harm from animals is expressed not only in the fact that they cause harm to the plants with their activities.  Animal excrements are also a problem -  they leave them everywhere.
At the same time, shooting capybaras or expelling them from the territory is prohibited by law.
According to the animal rights activists, this territory used to be part of the capybara environment where they lived.  So the animals just came back home.

Capybara is the largest representative of rodents, which lives near water and is widespread almost throughout South America, excluding mountains.  The nature of the animal is quite calm, which allows people to keep capybaras as pets.
