Biden and Putin to participate in European security summit
Emmanuel Macron invited the United States and Russia to hold a summit on security issues in Europe.  The idea of   the initiative is to organize a joint meeting of the American and Russian leaders, and then a summit with the participation of the French president.

It is known that Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin have already agreed to participate in the event.

The summit should take place after the meeting of the foreign ministers of both countries, at which questions to the presidents will be worked out.  The press service of the Elysee Palace separately noted that the meeting would be possible only if Russia refrains from invading the territory of Ukraine.  The message also contains a note that the French president intends to work with all parties in preparation for the summit.

Negotiations regarding the situation in Ukraine have already repeatedly taken place between Putin and Biden.
The position of Russia boils down to the concerns about a possible advance of NATO forces to the east, while the US expresses concern about Russian troop movements close to the Ukrainian border.  On February 13 this year, during a conversation with Joe Biden, Russian leader expressed his concern about the active militarization of Ukraine.  Putin focused on the supply of weapons to the country, which, in his opinion, could lead to provocations by the Ukrainian security forces in the territories adjacent to Russia.
