The head of the Turkish Ministry of Health Fahrettin Koca stated in his Twitter that after the opening of the borders with Russia, a significant increase in the incidence of coronavirus has been reported in the country.
He noted that the Turkish authorities have detected a strong increase in the number of cases for the first time in a long period. Koca added that the government should do its best to contain an outbreak of the disease.
According to the data cited in Turkey, 1,083 cases of coronavirus have been detected in the country over the past 24 hours, and 18 people died.
We should recall that air traffic between Russia and Turkey was resumed on August 1.
Fahrettin Koca had previously reported that if the growth of the cases continued, the authorities would have to take "drastic measures." When it comes to Russia, 5159 cases were recorded in the country over the past day - according to the dynamics, the number of cases is decreasing.
