A RESIDENT OF SLOVENIA SAWED OFF HER HAND TO AVOID BANKRUPTCY

The story of Julia Adlesic, a Slovenian citizen who sawed off her hand in January 2019, is striking with cynicism from the side of her close people. The purpose of the act was to receive money under an insurance contract that could help pay off the bank loans.

Shortly before this, the woman filed for personal bankruptcy, being unable to pay off her debts.

The case ended with the verdict of the Slovenian District Court located in Ljubljana - Julia Adlesic was sentenced to two years in prison, but was released in the courtroom, since she had been under arrest since March 6, 2019.

Her partner, Sebastian Abramov, as well as members of his family, were involved in the case together with Yulia. The court left Abramov in custody, having sentenced him to three years in prison. His father (Gorazd Kolarić) was conditionally sentenced to one year by the court, accused of complicity - he will be on probation for two years.

According to the plan that the defendants came up with, the insurance company could have paid them about ˆ 1.166 million.

With such a demand, all the defendants in the case applied to the court on January 16-17, 2019. The family was found to have signed five insurance contracts with a specific type of injury.

On January 4, 2019, Abramov called an ambulance, saying that his girlfriend had accidentally lost her left hand while working at a sawmill. At the same time, the hand was kept in the freezer - the operation was successfully performed in the hospital, and the doctors managed to restore the hand.

It turned out that the woman herself sawed off her hand with a circular saw in order to get insurance.

According to the court's verdict, the family of Yulia Adleshich decided to solve their financial problems at the expense of the person involved in the case.

The ex-wife of Gorazd Kolarić, Tinka Khuskich, was also involved in the case. She, along with the others, filed a claim for insurance payments, opening access to her account. It is assumed that she knew about the plans of her ex-husband and son regarding 20-year-old Yulia Adleshich and her hand. The prosecutor's office asked for four years, but the court fully acquitted her due to insufficient evidence.
