A MONTHLY WAGE OF RUSSIAN ASTRONAUTS WILL BE MORE THAN 500 THOUSAND RUBLES

Deputy Director General of Roscosmos Maxim Ovchinnikov said that the salaries of Russian cosmonauts would be significantly increased. Astronaut candidates will be paid up to 300 thousand rubles, and experienced specialists - around 500 thousand.

According to TASS, President Vladimir Putin announced an increase in the salaries of astronauts. The growth in prosperity will especially affect the astronaut candidates- their salaries will be increased by 70%. Experienced astronauts will have a chance to get a 50% increased rate.

Now Russian astronauts receive half as much as their counterparts from America or Europe.

For example, astronauts from NASA receive about 8-9 thousand dollars (600-700 thousand rubles). European cosmonauts have a slightly lower rate, about 7-8 thousand dollars.

Ovchinnikov said that the cosmonauts would receive the first increased payments in the nearest future. Moreover, the Ministry of Finance, the Government, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Presidential Administration took part in the implementation of this idea.

We should recall that Vladimir Putin made a proposal to increase the salaries of astronauts - he announced this at a meeting on Astronautics Day.
