According to the CEC of Russia, the processing of votes on constitutional amendments has been completed. 77.92% of the election participants voted for the amendments to the main document of the country.

The representatives of CEC noted that the voter turnout was 65%, while 21.27% voted against the new Constitution. It is noted that the only region that voted against the amendments was the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug - 55.25% of voters said “no” there. It is also reported that Russians residing in Berlin voted against changing the Constitution (67%).

As for the highest support for the amendments, it was recorded in Chechnya (97.92%), Tuva (96.79%) and the Crimea (90.07%).

Chechnya and Tuva have shown the highest voter turnout as well. 65.29% of voters supported the Constitution in Moscow, and 77.66% in St. Petersburg.

During the voting period, 839 complaints regarding the conduct of voting were received by the CEC, but none of them has been considered as significant. At the same time, the Communist Party party accused the CEC of signs of falsification during the home voting in the Moscow region of Ramenki - as a result, some of the ballots have been cancelled.

We should recall that among the amendments to the Constitution, the widest public outcry was caused by the nullification of V. Putin’s presidential terms, the consolidation of the concept of “God,” and the fact that from now on only a union of a man and a woman can be considered as a married couple.
