Since the beginning of 2021, Alexey Mordashov (Severstal), Leonid Mikhelson (Novatek) and Vladimir Lisin (NLMK) have managed to maximize their wealth.  The richest Russian is still the owner of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin.



The list of the 500 richest people in the world was published by Bloomberg. In the first two quarters of 2021, Mordashov earned more than other Russian billionaires - his capital increased by $ 6.14 billion, reaching $ 29.2 billion (fourth place in the ranking). Leonid Mikhelson got $ 5.82 billion in revenues over the same period (total - $ 30.6 billion, second place in the ranking). Lisin increased his fortune by $ 5.48 billion (total - $ 29.3 billion, third place in the ranking).

The first place among Russians was taken by Vladimir Potanin with a fortune of $ 33.4 billion.

Vagit Alekperov, known as the co-owner of Lukoil, took the fifth place - since the beginning of the year he earned $ 4.01 billion, with a total capital of $ 21.3 billion. Next come Gennady Timchenko with stakes in Sibur and Novatek ($ 21.2 billion, + 4.52 billion in 2021), Alisher Usmanov with stakes in Megafon and Metalloinvest ($ 21.1 billion, +3.11 billion), Roman Abramovich with Evraz ($ 18.7 billion, +280 million) and Viktor Vekselberg - the owner of Renova, Skolkovo Foundation ($ 17.9 billion, +1.82 billion).

The fortunes of five Russian billionaires, on the contrary, have declined since the beginning of 2021.

Most of all lost Andrey Melnichenko with SUEK and Eurochem (17.2 billion dollars, -886 million) and the founder of Wildberries Tatiana Bakalchuk (8.35 billion dollars, -731 million).

Three representatives of Alfa Group: its owner Mikhail Fridman ($ 13.7 billion, -707 million), co-owner German Khan ($ 9.36 billion, -428 million) and member of the supervisory board Alexei Kuzmichev (7,06 billion dollars, -355 million) are also on the list.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($ 193 billion, +2.81 billion in 2021) took the first position in the ranking of the richest people on the planet, followed by Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk ($ 188 billion, +17.9 billion). The third leading position is taken by Bernard Arnault, who owns Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy ($ 173 billion, +58.2 billion).
