12 RUSSIAN CITIES WERE AWARDED THE TITLE OF CITIES OF LABOR VALOR
According to the decree signed by President Vladimir Putin, 12 cities of the Russian Federation have been awarded the ‘City of Labor Valor’ title. The new status was given due to labor achievements during the Great Patriotic War.

Information about the innovation appeared on the official website of Kremlin. Now among the ‘Cities of Labor Valor’ there are: Barnaul, Penza, Magadan, Kirov, Tyumen, Kolomna, Kamensk-Uralsky, Cheboksary, Severodvinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Rybinsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

Residents of these cities helped to continuously produce products for military and civilian purposes during the years of war.

The text of the decree notes that there was massive labor heroism and dedication in the ‘Cities of Labor Valor’. Previously, it was proposed to assign the honorary status to 11 cities, but later the list was supplemented by the city of Cheboksary.

The City of Labor Valor title appeared in the spring of 2020. It was decided to assign it to settlements, the inhabitants of which showed outstanding labor heroism for citizens and the front in 1941-1945. 20 cities have already received these titles, now the list has been supplemented by 12 cities more.
