ZOOM SERVICE RECEIVED A CLAIM FOR INFORMATION DISCLOSURE

The Federal Court of San Jose City (California, USA) received a lawsuit from Robert Cullen, who accused the popular Zoom video conferencing platform of illegally disclosing of the personal information.

The plaintiff stated that the service collects information during the installation of the app, as well as during each opening of it. After that, Zoom allegedly transfers information about the user, which can be used by third parties. Cullen considered himself affected by the actions of the service and demanded payment of compensation, as well as a fine for the company for illegal activities.

It is worth noting that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Zoom app has become extremely popular - if earlier it was downloaded several tens of thousands of times per day, now the number of daily downloads is over  the millions due to the fact that the service helps to work and study remotely.

Previously, Zoom was involved in a scandal - using a defect of the app, hackers gained access to video conferencing, but that time the problem was fixed.
