The Commercial Court of Moscow received a claim filed by the state corporation VEB.RF against the Utair airline. The amount of claim is 208 million rubles. The plaintiff is known to be one of the defendant's creditors.
The details of the case have not yet been disclosed, but it is worth noting that Utair has been experiencing financial problems for several years. In 2019, it became known that the airline owes about 30 billion rubles - the existence of debt was explained by an increase in the cost of fuel.
Utair is deeply in debt; from time to time the company receives bankruptcy claims.
The company is the fourth largest Russian airline, overtaken by Aeroflot, S7 and Ural Airlines. Among the shareholders of the Utair, there are Surgutneftegaz - AK-invest (over 50%), as well as the government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and the Tyumen region.
