TINKOFF BANK FILED A 677 MILLION RUBLES CLAIM AGAINST MEGAFON
Tinkoff Bank filed a claim with the Moscow Arbitration Court to recover 677.1 million rubles from Megafon company. In recent months, this is already the third claim of the bank to mobile operators.

Earlier, proceedings were initiated against VimpelCom PJSC (the amount of claim was 437 million rubles) and MTS (the amount to be collected was 1.1 billion rubles). In each process, the Federal Antimonopoly Service was declared as a third party.

The claim filed against MTS is related to the earlier decision of the Federal Antimonopoly Service on overpricing of SMS messaging for commercial banks.

At the same time, the defendant in the case does not agree with the claim and intends to fight, according to RIA Novosti. The next court session on this case is scheduled for July 14.

When it comes to the claim against Megafon, Tinkoff Bank has already confirmed that it is similar to the one filed earlier against MTS.

In spring of 2019, the Federal Antimonopoly Service recognized MTS, Megafon, Tele-2 and VimpelCom as violators of the Competition Law. According to the regulator, cellular operators provided banks with state participation with more favorable conditions for the provision of SMS messaging services compared to commercial banks, including Tinkoff Bank.

At the moment, the lawsuit against Megafon has not yet been accepted for court proceedings, but this should happen in the nearest future.
