THE SUPREME COURT DISMISSED A LAWSUIT AGAINST PUTIN FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN

The Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit against President Vladimir Putin on charges of impairment of the rights of children over 16 years old - this category of minors did not receive "coronavirus" payments in June and July.

We should recall that the parents' class action lawsuit was filed in court by the headquarters of the deputy Yulia Galyamina. The plaintiffs argued that the president violated international norms and the Convention on the Rights of the Child by depriving a whole category of minors of payments - according to the law, older or younger children have the same rights.

The Supreme Court did not reveal the reason for the refusal, but it is already known that the plaintiffs will appeal this decision.

According to the presidential decree, the children from 3 to 16 years old were entitled to the payments of 10 thousand rubles twice. The children under 3 years old received the state support as well, but the category of 16-18 years old was left without any payments.

The parents are outraged by this decision, noting that older children, on the contrary, require more expenses on food, clothing, and preparation for the State Exams. The plaintiffs added that, in addition to the legal norms, the presidential decree contradicts the concept of Russia's demographic policy until 2025.
