The Commercial Court of the Komi Republic received an application from the local Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection demanding to collect 2.22 billion rubles from Lukoil-Komi LLC.
The case has not yet been accepted for production, but it is known that the conflict occurred due to an accident that happened in mid-October. Lukoil's technical waters were spilled in the area of the Usinskoe forestry. Its extensive areas - almost 89 hectares - were affected by them.
The technical waters are oil liquid that is spilled out as a result of depressurization of one of the inoperative oil pipelines. According to estimates, it is about 0.9 tones of water, and the area of the oil slick has reached 700 square meters.
An emergency regime was introduced due to the accident, the consequences of which were eliminated by the end of October.
It is necessary to add that the oil slick appeared
on the surface of the Kolva River. The criminal case was initiated on the fact
of the incident under the article “Violation of the rules of environmental protection
