THE “KHIMPROM” BANKRUPT WILL PAY A BILLION RUBLES TO THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE
The case in question started on December 4, 2019. Then the Ministry of Finance appealed to the Moscow Arbitration Court with a demand against the debtor, the “Khimprom” trading house. The claim amount was around 918 369 367 rubles.

On February 5, the court decided to recover money from “Khimprom” and the amount exceeds the claim as the penalties were added here. As a result, the organization must pay the Ministry of Finance more than a billion rubles (1,058,053,189 rubles). We should remind that “Khimprom” is a bankrupt seller of fertilizers. The company received a loan of 860 million rubles from “Rosselkhozbank”. In this deal, the Ministry of Finance, for its side, guaranteed 430 million rubles.

As a result, “Khimprom” did not repay the loan, and the ministry had to pay the obligation. Then the Ministry of Finance accused the company of misuse of funds and put forward the requirements, according to which “Khimprom” is to return the funds to the state and pay a fine under the guarantee agreement. That is how the sum of a billion rubles (debt + penalties) has appeared.

“Khimprom” went bankrupt in 2014. Bankruptcy proceedings in the case were discontinued only in 2019 due to the lack of funds for the company, for the manager services and for the legal costs.
