THE COURT REJECTED THE CLAIM OF RUSSIAN INVENTOR TO PROHIBIT THE SALES OF IPHONE

THE COURT REJECTED THE CLAIM OF RUSSIAN INVENTOR TO PROHIBIT THE SALES OF IPHONE
The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation rejected the claim of Artashes Ikonomov, who claimed that the SOS function on iPhones was his invention.

The plaintiff applied to court for violation of intellectual property rights.  He claimed that Apple was misusing his invention.  In 2013, Artashes Ikonomov patented the ‘Mobile phone with emergency communication’ device. A pre-recorded voice or text message can be sent from the gadget by this function.
The signal is sent even if there is no SIM card and money on it.
After Ikonomov's lawsuit had been filed, Apple's Russian branch Apple Rus filed a counterclaim.  It contained demands to annul Ikonomov's patent, but the court dismissed the claim.

According to TASS, the inventor, in turn, demanded to ban the sale of iPhones on the territory of the Russian Federation, but the  Supreme Court rejected his claim.
