THE COMPANY OF ALINA KABAEVA IS DRIVING TVK-PLUS TO BANKRUPTCY
The bankruptcy claim of the TV company from Berdsk was filed with the Commercial Court of the Novosibirsk Region. The initiator of the bankruptcy is the Moscow company Otkrytie TV, which is owned by Media Alliance, managed by the National Media Group (NMG). Alina Kabaeva is the chairman of the board of directors of NMG. The amount of debt claimed in court is 4.78 million rubles.

According to data from the open sources, TVK-Plus is a part of the TVK media holding, which is owned by Alexander Kirpichenko. The firm has a cable channel that broadcasts news for residents of Berdsk and Iskitim about events in the region and local news.

In addition, TVK provides Internet services to residents of the Novosibirsk region.

In 2019, the holding received about 8 million rubles of net profit, and its revenue amounted to 40.8 million rubles.

As for the media holding registered in Moscow, its owner is Yuri Kovalchuk, whose friendly relations with the President of the Russian Federation are indicated by numerous media outlets. The holding exercises control over Channel Five and Ren TV, and has a 49% stake in STS and Channel One, which determine the information policy of the government.

Experts note that the Moscow media giant, formed in 2008 through the merger of the assets of Alexei Mordashov, Surgutneftegaz, IG Sogaz and JSB Rossiya, has already tried to bankrupt the Berdsk company last fall. Then it turned out to be impossible due to the moratorium established by the country's authorities as a measure to support business during a pandemic. Whether the claim will be considered this time will become clear in the nearest future.
