Tesla company got into a harassment scandal again
Tesla Corp. has been attacked by allegations of sexual harassment.  The initiator of the appeal to the court was a former employee of the enterprise in Fremont (California), where the electric cars of popular models are produced.  Erica Cloud, who works at the assembly line, turned to the court through lawyers, claiming the constant harassment and violent actions of her ex-manager.

In her lawsuit, Cloud points to an unpleasant ‘hugs’ and ‘massage’ from the former manager, who also made obscene reproaches and rude remarks in relation to her. The ex-employee described in detail how the manager ‘knelt down,  making a proposal to marry him’, and then (in the spring of 2020) emphasized several times that she was ‘dark skinned’ and pointed to his penis with the words ‘he is big’.
The worker considered her boss's actions to be aggressive and, as stated in the statement, began to ‘fear for her safety’.
She filed a complaint with the company's HR department, which had considered it for three months.  According to the worker, after that she met a negative attitude towards herself from other managers, under supervision of whom she was transferred.  As a result, at the request of new bosses, the woman had to not go to work at all or leave earlier several times, losing bonuses and benefits along with wages.

This is not the first time Tesla is sued over harassment. In November, Jessica Barraza filed a similar appeal to the court, accusing the firm of massive cases of sexual harassment, citing testimonies from three current and several ex-employees of the enterprise.

Her claim, in particular, spoke about unbearable psychological conditions of work in the workshops of the plant, which more resemble an ‘archaic construction site’ or a ‘frat house’, located in the very center of San-Francisco Bay.

We should remind our readers that cases of discrimination were mentioned earlier.  In particular, in 2016, engineer A.J. Vandermeiden became its victim, being fired after complaining about the low salary compared to the salary of male engineers.  At that time, many female employees called the company the ‘predator zone’.
In October 2021, a court sentenced Tesla to pay financial compensation of $ 137 million to the former employee Owen Diaz, who was subjected to racial harassment.
Since Diaz did not have time to sign an agreement prohibiting legal proceedings with the employer (the so-called ‘binding arbitration’), he managed to get payment through the courts.  Now the company is trying to challenge the court decision, while declaring the inadmissibility of racism in the workplace.
