The Sverdlovsk arbitration Court has received a claim for the insolvency of the Verkhnesaldinsky Bakery. The initiator of the bankruptcy was the tax authorities (MI FTS No. 18). The amount of the claims is 8.7 million rubles.

The plant traces its history back to the 1930s, when a bakery was opened in Verkhnyaya Salda. Until the early 1990s, it functioned successfully, and then a change of ownership and organizational and legal forms began. In the noughties, Verkhnesaldinsky Bakery took prizes at Russian and international events, but by 2021 it was on the verge of financial collapse due to loss of product quality.

In 2021, entrepreneur Vitaly Zhuk decided to purchase the company put up for auction. The businessman initially thought to make a profit from the sale of metal, since he had never been involved in the baking business before. He tried to restore the reputation of the plant and modernize the Verkhnesaldinsky Bakery, attracting investments. However, by the autumn of 2022, the plant had actually stopped working.

A local business reported that it was stopping supplies from the enterprise due to the extremely low quality of bread. In November 2022, it was reported that the bakery building (owned by Verkhnesaldinsky Bakery) was sold to Irina Petrushenko. The entrepreneur announced plans to renovate the building and open a cafe in it. A week later, Verkhnesaldinsky Bakery was put up on a popular trading platform on the Internet for $20 million.

Last year, the bakery has already applied to arbitration for its own bankruptcy. But later the claim of Verkhnesaldinsky Bakery was withdrawn. At the beginning of 2024, another bankruptcy claim was filed by Uralprokat. However, this statement was also withdrawn by the initiator of the process.
