TAX AUTHORITIES OF VOLGOGRAD CITY INTEND TO DRIVE SOYUZPECHAT INTO BANKRUPTCY
The tax service came up with the initiative to recognize the insolvency of Soyuzpechat of the Volgograd Region (JSC). According to the information released, the organization owes 5.3 million rubles to the treasury. The company is fully owned by the region represented by the regional property committee.
It is known that the Soyuzpechat company owns a third of the capital in the Volgogradskaya Pravda publishing house.
The deplorable state of the Soyuzpechat outlets in the region has already attracted public attention. According to the statistics, the company ended 2019 with a revenue of 20 million rubles. This is 133 million less than a year earlier.
Out of 237 litigations, the firm was found to be the defendant in 219 cases.
Volgogradskaya Pravda, a subsidiary of Soyuzpechat, ended 2020 with a loss of 48.6 million rubles.
This is not to say that there were no attempts to improve the company's economic performance. One of them was the idea to increase the product range of newsstands.
Regional officials allowed newsmen to sell not only office supplies and perfumes, but also confectionery, animal feed and long-term food products (seeds, snacks, chips). However, to the problem of profitability of retail outlets, there was also the problem of newsstands, which the Volgograd authorities began to demolish due to land lease debts.
The local experts state that two retail chains continue to operate in the region, distributing the print press - RIA Profi and VDV. At the same time, they also faced the problem of demolishing old-style newsstands several years ago.
During the preparations for the 2018 World Cup, the city authorities approved a new standard for pavilions, inviting the owners of old newsstands to ‘invest’ in the renovation.
Since the owners did not have enough funds, the number of retail outlets in the city drastically decreased.
