Tax authorities of Belgorod decided to drive 109 firms to bankruptcy in two days
The Arbitration Court of the Belgorod Region received more than a hundred claims for bankruptcy of legal entities from the regional department of the Federal Tax Service for the period from August 31 to September 1.  And although the applications have not yet been accepted for consideration, the scale of the activity of the tax service officials impressed many experts.

The majority of debtor companies are manufacturing and construction firms, as well as small trading enterprises.  No large industrial structures were found among potential respondents.  Moreover, in a number of cases, the tax authorities demand that the bankruptcy proceedings of the firms should be conducted in a simplified manner, indicating ‘the absence of a debtor’ as the basis.

It is assumed that many of the applications can ‘follow the path’ of those that the tax authorities have already filed earlier.  In most cases, the court indicated the need to supplement claims with documentary evidence confirming that the companies had assets for conducting bankruptcy proceedings.
Experts note that similar tax collection campaigns have already been noted in other regions of the country.
Similar actions on the mass filing of bankruptcy claims took place in the Tambov and Voronezh regions this summer. In August, Rusbankrot wrote about the potential bankrupts in the region, among which there were those, who had previously been under the protection of the moratorium established by the Government of the Russian Federation until January 7, 2021.
