SUZUKI CORPORATION IS SUING ROSPATENT
The Suzuki Motor Corporation filed a lawsuit in the Intellectual Property Court, demanding to recognize the decision of Rospatent to be invalid. The speech is about a long-running dispute on the trademark of corporation

Suzuki Motor Corporation, which is the copyright holder of the Suzuki trademark, filed an application for registration of the mark on the list of goods (knives, forks, etc.) in 2017. However, it turned out that the trademarks were already registered by a certain company Dunham Investment Inc. From that moment, Suzuki began a long way of upholding of its trademark.

The problem is also connected with the fact that Dunham Investment Inc. is a non-existent company, registered in the British Virgin Islands. At the same time, the address of the company is listed in another state.

Rospatent acknowledged that the Suzuki trademark is legally registered by Dunham Investment Inc. In 2019, the decision of Rospatent was supported by the Intellectual Property Rights Court, because the dubious copyright holder is an official legal entity and is registered in accordance with all the laws of its country.

Apparently, the representatives of Suzuki Motor Corporation do not agree with this decision and intend to continue to defend their trademark.
