STAND UP COMEDIAN MIRZALIZADE FILED AN APPEAL TO CHALLENGE THE BAN ON ENTRY TO THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the stay of comedian Idrak Mirzalizade on the territory of the Russian Federation is undesirable. This happened after a public outcry over a joke about the Russians and their love for feces.
Idrak Mirzalizade disagrees with the decision, and therefore filed a lawsuit demanding to cancel the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to TASS, the case was filed with the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow. At the moment, the comedian is banned from staying in Russia for the term of his life.
The lawsuit was filed on September 2, but the court registered it only on September 7.
Mirzalizade was banned from staying in the Russian Federation at the end of August.
At first, the stand-up comedian was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest under the article on incitement to hatred. The reason was a joke in which he talked about a mattress in a rented apartment, soiled with feces by previous Russian owners. In the course of the prosecutor's check, it was decided that the phrases humiliated a group of persons on a national basis and propagandized the inferiority of nationality.
The comedian himself is a citizen of Belarus, but where exactly Mirzalizade is at the moment is unknown. Mediazona reported that Idrak is not in Russia now, but not in Belarus either.
