RELATIVES OF VICTIMS OF TU-154 AIRCRAFT CRASH NEAR SOCHI APPLIED TO ECHR FOR JUSTICE
The European Court of Human Rights accepted a complaint from plaintiffs who are relatives of the victims of the plane crash that took place near Sochi in 2016.  They ask for a fair trial, and also believe that the criminal case was dropped unreasonably.

According to Interfax, a complaint was filed with the European Court of Human Rights on behalf of 70 relatives of the victims. The plaintiffs believe that their rights have been violated under two articles: the right to a fair trial (Article 13) and the right to life (Article 2). Their interests are represented by the lawyer Igor Trunov.

The defense attorney said that the persons in charge were not brought to justice in connection with the aircraft crash.

The reasons for the deaths of people themselves have not been established either. We should recall that as a result of the plane crash that occurred on December 25, 2016 in the water area of   Sochi, 92 people were killed. The Tu-154 was a military aircraft and belonged to the Ministry of Defense.

On board of the liner, there were employees of the ministry, journalists, head of the ‘Fair Help’ fund Elizaveta Glinka and artists of the ensemble of Alexandrov. All of them were on their way to the Khmeimim base in Syria.

Previously, relatives have already applied to the court, demanding 2 billion rubles from the Ministry of Defense, the insurance company ‘Sogaz’ and the reinsurer MS Amlin pls in connection with not fully paid insurance, as well as due to material and moral damage. But the Meshchansky court of Moscow rejected the claim. The criminal case itself was dropped due to the absence of the event of a crime.
