American Virginia Giuffre intends to sue the son of British Queen Elizabeth II, prince Andrew. The issue is related to possible sexual assault that could have happened twenty years ago. The woman must decide the final fate of the application by mid-August.
According to the lawyer of the victim, Prince Andrew may be put on trial because of the charges of his client.
The woman claims that at the age of seventeen, she became a victim of sexual abuse by the prince.
Previously, according to American law, victims could submit such statements a maximum of five years after reaching the age of majority, now the norm has changed - this period has increased significantly.
Giuffre’s charges are connected with the name of the notorious Jeffrey Epstein, who was detained by the American law enforcement officers two years earlier. He was charged with the involvement of minors in prostitution and sexual assault.
According to Giuffre, Prince Andrew communicated with Epstein - twenty years ago, he was among the men with whom the girl was forced to have sex.
It is interesting that in the year of Epstein's detention, Prince Andrew temporarily relinquished his powers as a member of the royal family and suspended public appearances.
