“OIL MARINE GROUP” MADE A CLAIM TO THE CUSTOMS AND TO THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE”
On November 8, the Moscow Arbitration Court received an application from “Oil Marine Group” LLC with a demand to recover 101 961 005 rubles from the Federal Customs Service and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
It is important to note that the claimant is engaged in the transportation of petroleum products on the company’s own tankers. In 2017, the company appealed to the Eurasian Economic Commission, reporting on the violations by the customs and judicial authorities of the Russian Federation. The report was about the rights of “Oil Marine Group” LLC to exempt from the import customs duties in the EAEU. Instead of the concessions provided, the company's ships were taxed in full. Despite the fact that the EEC had to submit the claimant’s application to the Eurasian court, the complaint was still satisfied and the authorities were obliged to return the fee.
Perhaps now a kind of a similar conflict takes place. Details of the case have not been disclosed yet.
