NOVOSIBIRSK PHARMACY CHAIN GOES BANKRUPT DUE TO 2 BILLION DEBT

The Arbitration Court of the Novosibirsk Region has accepted a bankruptcy petition from the Pharmacy from Warehouse 7 company. This network, which was previously one of the major players in the pharmaceutical market of the city, is facing debts. Their amount reaches almost 2 billion rubles. At the time of filing the lawsuit against the company, no decision had yet been made to initiate the proceedings.

The Pharmacy from Warehouse 7 company was founded in 2014 by entrepreneurs Andrey Godovalov and Nikolai Shavrin. During her career, she has developed a network of 26 pharmacies in Novosibirsk. However, at the end of 2023, all these outlets were closed, which was the result of financial problems accumulated by the company. Against the background of the closure of pharmacies and a sharp decline in revenue, which in 2023 fell by 44% compared to the previous year, Pharmacy from Warehouse 7 filed for bankruptcy.

The difficulties with the company's financial obligations did not start yesterday. Back in 2023, VTB Bank presented the company with a debt of 2.1 billion rubles, which was also one of the factors that pushed the company to file for bankruptcy. The company had difficulty coping with debt payments and was unable to meet its financial obligations on time.

It was not only the Pharmacy from Warehouse 7 that faced problems. In September 2023, business partners Godovalov and Shavrin also filed for bankruptcy. At that time, Godovalov's total debts amounted to 4.2 billion rubles, and the court declared him insolvent. His partner, Shavrin, followed the same path, submitting a similar application.

The bankruptcy proceedings of Pharmacy from Warehouse 7 are ongoing, and this makes it difficult for the company to resume its operations. Along with this, there were problems with the supply of medicines, which led to the closure of outlets and the loss of the customer base. Despite the company's long history, the financial situation remains critical.

Against the background of the closure of several large pharmacies, entrepreneurs engaged in business in the pharmaceutical sector are actively discussing the possible consequences and prospects for the development of the industry in such conditions.
