NAVALNY FILED A LAWSUIT ON THE HONOUR AND DIGNITY PROTECTION AGAINST PESKOV
Alexey Navalny intends to defend his honor, dignity and business reputation in court - the relevant documents have already been submitted to one of the Moscow courts. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, was announced as a defendant in the case.
The reason for such decisive measures was the statements that Peskov made in October this year.
The situation arose after Navalny accused the Russian special services of his poisoning.
Commenting on this, the press secretary stated that the position taken by Alexei was dictated by the CIA, and it was the CIA that "put into the mouth" of the activist what he subsequently says. At the same time, Peskov recommended the intelligence department officers to conduct a dialogue not through the opposition leader, but directly with their Russian colleagues.
Immediately after the statement, Navalny indicated that it was not truth and that he had an intention to file a lawsuit against the press secretary to demand a refutation.
So, the claim filed the day before stated a demand to refute the words of the press secretary, while the document does not contain any material penalties. Nothing is known about the further fate of the claim, and at the moment, no procedural decision has been made on it.
