MEGHAN MARKLE WINS CLAIM AGAINST MAIL ON SUNDAY
The Duchess of Sussex won the UK High Court privacy case. The case was related to the publication of Meghan’s letter addressed to her father by the Mail on Sunday newspaper.

The Duchess sued the newspaper for copyright infringement, breach of confidential data protection laws and the misuse of private information.

The content of the letter addressed to Thomas Markle was personal and related to the feelings of the plaintiff. In the letter, the Duchess talks about her attitude to her father's behavior and the reasons for the quarrel between them.

The Judge Lord Warby granted Meghan a summary judgment without a full-fledged trial, noting that the newspaper had no chance to win the claim.

The case in question is related to a handwritten letter sent by Meghan Markle to her father Thomas Markle in August 2018. Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in May of the same year. Thomas Markle himself was not present at the celebration.
