IZHEVSK CITY ADMINISTRATION IS SUED FOR RIVER POLLUTION
IZHEVSK CITY ADMINISTRATION IS SUED FOR RIVER POLLUTION
The press service of the prosecutor's office of Udmurtia announced the upcoming trial with the administration of Izhevsk city. The defendant is accused of polluting the Karlutka River.
In the framework of the prosecutor's check carried out by the Industrial District Prosecutor's Office, it was found out that oil waste was illegally stored on the river bank. The violation was found on an area of about 330 square meters. The prosecutor's office stated that this could cause pollution of the river, groundwater and topsoil.
The Izhevsk administration is the owner of this site.
The plaintiff noted that the administration, being the owner, should not allow pollution - the waste should be disposed of, but this was not done.
The lawsuit specifies the requirements for the liquidation of the oil waste storage. We should note that the inspection began after complaints of the local residents, who noticed that the Karlutka River began to change color, and oily stains appeared on the surface.
