Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a case over the tiger’s attack on a child in safari park
The incident took place in the Taigan Lions Park located in Crimea - a tiger attacked a one-year-old child - as a result, the boy lost his finger.
A criminal case under part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements) was initiated by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Crimea. According to the investigation, on September 26, a child born in 2020 was bitten by a predator, as a result of which his finger was amputated.
The child was admitted to the hospital, his condition is not a cause for concern.
It is known that his 22-year-old mother brought him to the cage with the tiger, bypassing the protective fence. Now the investigation has to find out the degree of guilt of the personnel, as well as the quality of the first aid. The assessment will also be given to the actions of the victim's parents.
The Taigan Lions Park is located in Belogorsk, not far from Simferopol. We should note that attacks by predators in zoos are not uncommon. In 2019, in Vietnam, a tiger tore off both hands of a zoo employee who was trying to wash him. In 2020, a tiger bit off the fingers of a woman at a Lithuanian zoo, and in 2017, a predator bit off the fingers of a Chinese pensioner who was trying to put the banknotes into his mouth.
