INVESTIGATIVE COMMITTEE INITIATED A CRIMINAL CASE ON FORCED STERILIZATION
This fall, a serious scandal erupted around the Uktussky recreation house in the Sverdlovsk region. The reason for this was the publication of the video on the Baza Telegram channel.
The video contains a complaint from one of the alleged patients about the institution's forced sterilization of women. Then the issue was taken up by the regional ombudsman, as well as by the regional Ministry of Social Policy. Institutions initiated checks by requesting all the necessary documentation from the recreation house.
After that, the regional Investigative Committee made a decision to investigate the situation and has already initiated a criminal case on the fact of causing serious harm to health.
At the moment, a decision has been made to recognize one of the patients of the recreation house as a victim. The document indicates a clear excess of powers by the official, which was expressed in the form of a compulsory sterilization procedure, as a result of which the victim has completely lost the ability to conceive naturally.
In the opinion of the investigative authorities, these actions not only caused serious harm to her health, but also violated the rights to health protection and medical care enshrined in the Constitution.
According to media reports, more than 10 patients of the recreation house underwent sterilization, but for the moment, the exact number of recognized victims has not been disclosed.
