IC INITIATED A CRIMINAL CASE OVER A WOMAN'S DEATH DURING PLASTIC SURGERY
The Investigative Committee of St. Petersburg initiated a criminal case after the death of a patient at a plastic surgery clinic. The operation was performed on the face of a 31-year-old woman.
The name of clinic was not revealed, but it was noted that it is located in the Central District of St. Petersburg. The case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - the provision of services that resulted in the death of a person.
The patient passed away on 25 August.
Now the investigation has to find out all the circumstances of the incident and conduct a forensic medical examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Earlier, the St. Petersburg-based ‘Plastic Surgery Center’ LLC lost an action against a local woman who demanded moral compensation. The woman filed a lawsuit due to an unsuccessful breast augmentation - asymmetry was observed after the surgery. Operation cost the patient about 220 thousand rubles, the court ordered to pay her more than 1 million rubles.
