GOOGLE RECEIVED CLAIMS TO REMOVE TELEGRAM FROM GOOGLE PLAY STORE

The plaintiffs were the Coalition for a Safer Web and its leader, Mark Ginsberg. Google is required to remove the Telegram messenger from the Google Play store.

An application was filed in the US District Court of North Carolina on January 25. Ginsberg and his company believe that Telegram is used to spread extremist information that can incite hatred on both ethnic and religious grounds.

At the same time, the plaintiff noted that he himself was a victim of such attacks because he professed Judaism.

It is worth noting that Mark Ginsberg was chairman of the White House in the 70s, and in the 90s he served as the American ambassador to Morocco. Ginsberg believes Telegram should better moderate its content. Previously, Apple received a similar lawsuit with a demand to remove the application.

Earlier, the Parler social network was removed from the App Store and Google Play due to the fact that the company's management refused to delete the accounts of supporters of the former US President Donald Trump. On January 6, supporters of Trump staged an act of assault on the Capitol. Parler, in turn, was accused of acts leading to violence.
