GOOGLE MIGHT PAY $ 5 BILLION FOR ILLEGAL DATA COLLECTION

A lawsuit with a complaint against Google was filed in the Federal Court of California – the company allegedly secretly collects the users’ data. Now the company may receive a fine of $ 5 billion.

The applicants noted that Google collects information almost about every resident of the United States. It is assumed that the company does this through the services of Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager and through a number of applications that users install on their devices. Moreover, the plaintiffs believe that the corporation collects information even from the anonymous browsers.

Actually, the main complaint against Google is about the collection of data during the use of the anonymous mode, starting on 1 June, 2016. The plaintiffs believe that this is a direct violation of the law, which provides for a ban on the invasion of privacy. Considering that the millions of users have suffered from the actions of the company, a fine of $ 5 thousand is assumed for each user - $ 5 billion in total, which is also quite an approximate amount.

The representatives of Google have already responded to the lawsuit and stated that the browser in anonymous mode can collect the activity data and that this information is not classified.
