GOOGLE CORPORATION WILL SUE THE FEDERAL SERVICE FOR SUPERVISION IN THE SPHERE OF TELECOM, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND MASS COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE FIRST TIME
Previously, Google acted only as a defendant in cases initiated by the Russian side, but this time the company independently filed a lawsuit against the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications. The reason was the department's requirement to remove 12 links on YouTube.

The application of the American corporation was accepted by the Moscow Court of Arbitration. The plaintiff believes that the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications is illegally restricting access to the resource. According to Kommersant, we are talking about videos calling for participation in the rallies that took place in January 2021.

Minors were also invited to participate in the actions.

Google decided to challenge the decision of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications to remove 12 links to illegal content. Experts believe that the company decided to apply to court due to the increased control of the authorities - Google is regularly required to remove various kinds of content.

It is also interesting that Google Corporation decided to sue the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications as a main legal entity, but not as the subsidiary company. Analysts believe that this was done with the expectation that when the Russian courts fail to win, it will be possible to apply to the European ones.
