GOOGLE CORPORATION IS SUED BY THE COURT OF MOSCOW FOR THE FILM ABOUT BESLAN

The day before, it became known that the prosecutor of the city of Moscow filed a lawsuit against the American corporation Google.

The reason for such measures was the restrictions, imposed by the video hosting YouTube, which belongs to Google, for viewing the documentary film "Beslan" by Alexander Rogatkin.

It is noteworthy that the picture has already been shown on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Beslan on September 3 on one of the Russian TV channels.

The day after the first broadcast, the movie was published on YouTube, but it requires authorization to view it, and a warning that "the video may not be acceptable to some users." appears before the start of the movie.

The actions of the video hosting were regarded by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media as an act of censorship, and the prosecutor's statement of claim contains demands to restore the rights of an indefinite circle of persons.

The prosecutor demands that the court cancel the mandatory registration for watching a film, as well as delete the warnings about its content.

The preliminary court hearing is scheduled for October 8th.

The tragedy at school # 1 in the city of Beslan took place in September 2004, when during a celebratory assembly, terrorists took teachers, schoolchildren and their relatives, who had come to the celebration, hostage. For three days, people had been forcibly kept in the school building, after which an operation to free the hostages was carried out. As a result of the storming of the building and the confrontation with terrorists, 334 people died, 186 of them were children.
