FTS DEMANDS TO RECOGNIZE ‘MYTNY MARKET’ OF NIZHNY NOVGOROD BANKRUPT
FTS DEMANDS TO RECOGNIZE ‘MYTNY MARKET’ OF NIZHNY NOVGOROD BANKRUPT
The Interdistrict Inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service No. 18 filed a bankruptcy petition against the Mytny Dvor company, the owner of the marketplace in Nizhny Novgorod. The company was established at the end of 2010 with an authorized capital of 546 thousand rubles. Vahan Baghdasaryan has been the owner and leader of the market since 1998.
Earlier, the businessman announced plans to build a shopping center on the site of the market. However, under pressure of the public, the city authorities did not allow Baghdasaryan to change the historical appearance of the city on the eve of its anniversary. It turned out that the market area is protected by special urban planning regulations, since it is located near the Kremlin (just over 100 meters), where capital construction is prohibited.
Now the city is preparing for its 800th anniversary.
The historical part of the city building, on which the Mytny Market is located, is being actively repaired. The activities related to the reconstruction of the market itself were supposed to end in June, but are still ongoing. The oldest market in Nizhny Novgorod emerged in the 16th century as a place of tax collection on goods imported into the city. It was called ‘mytnaya izba’ (obsolete ‘myt’- tribute, tax), which became the basis for the historical name of the market. Now Nizhny Novgorod residents are promised that the market will open before the beginning of September.
In 2020, the market was forcibly closed for three months by the decision of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare. The reason was the violation of sanitary norms and rules in force during the pandemic. The audit took place back in August last year, and the consideration of the case in court (according to part 2 of article 6.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation) took place later.
It is known that the tax authorities are not the only ones who have accumulated claims against the organization.
The company has already received several dozen claims from various persons in recent years. In particular, representatives of the heat supply organization counted more than 114 thousand rubles as a debt of the market.
