FEDERAL SERVICE FOR SUPERVISION IN THE SPHERE OF TELECOM, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND MASS COMMUNICATIONS DEMANDS TO REMOVE CALLS FOR RALLIES FROM SOCHIAL NETWORKS
At the initiative of the General Prosecutor's Office, Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications sent a notification on the need to remove calls to participate in unauthorized rallies from TikTok and VKontakte social networks. We are talking about the agitation of minors, however, which rallies are meant, is not specified.
The agency asked the management of TikTok to take immediate measures to prevent the dissemination of "such illegal information."
A similar message was sent to the head of VKontakte. In addition, Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications called on all social networks, as well as other information resources and the media, to prevent the replication of calls for minors to participate in unauthorized rallies.
This might be connected with the arrest of the politician and opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who returned after treatment in Germany, and a rally in support of which is about to take place next Saturday.
The plane on which was Alexei landed at a different (as opposed to the declared) airport; after landing, the politician was immediately taken to the police station, where the trial for his arrest was held.
Alexei's supporters urged people to take to the streets of their cities, showing their disagreement with the current situation around Navalny.
