FEDERAL SERVICE FOR SUPERVISION IN THE SPHERE OF TELECOM, INFORMATION TECHNNOLOGIES AND MASS COMMUNICATIONS SUES CHANNEL 1 OVER A VIDEO
Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications filed a claim with the Moscow Arbitration Court against Channel One. The fact is that the channel used a fragment of a video of a media recognized as a foreign agent in one of its programs.

At the same time, Channel One did not indicate that the source was precisely a foreign agent. Now the regulator demands to bring the TV channel to administrative responsibility under Part 3 of Article 14.1 of the Administrative Code, concerning violation of licensing requirements.

As part of the program "Time will show" on March 11, 2021, a fragment from the video of the "Present Time" channel was used.

The specified TV channel is recognized as a foreign agent, since it is funded by sources allocated by the United States. Now Channel One is waiting for a warning or a fine of up to 40 thousand rubles, and a hearing on the case will take place on May 6.

The video of the program "Time Will Show" was about the new policy of America and new President Joe Biden, the battles in the Donbass and other pressing problems. We should recall that, according to the law, from March 1, 2021, the media are obliged to indicate its status when mentioning a foreign agent a source.
